Company Profile
HISTORY
Established in November 1993, we celebrated our Fifteenth anniversary in 2008
together with that of the South African Constitution and ten years of democracy.

As we are situated in the beautiful Helderberg Basin
the colours of blue and green depict the sky, ocean and the mountain ranges that surround
us.
The royal blue colour symbolizes how we regard our clients

CAPE TOWN
Ever so beautiful, Table Mountain is only 30 minutes drive from our offices. The
Helderberg forms part of the greater Cape Town Metropole. We operate in and around the
city and the surrounding country side. We can represent you at the Deeds Office, the
Master of the High Court, the High Court, the Receiver of Revenue, Financial Institutions
and Commercial Entities.
THE WESTERN CAPE
The scenic province is at the southern tip of Africa. It is surrounded by two
oceans, the Atlantic Ocean on the West Coast and the Indian Ocean on the East Coast. The
Orange River forms the Northern border. There are many superb tourist destinations in the
province and it serves as a gateway to the rest of Africa. It is surrounded by the Northern
Cape Province, the Free State and the Eastern Cape.
FALSE BAY
The Bay is known for its beauty and long golden beaches. It is one of the homes
of the Great white Shark. Gordons Bay, The
Strand, Macassar, Muizenberg and Simons Town line it, with Somerset West, Stellenbosch,
Hermanus and the Northern and Southern Supburbs of Cape Town nearby.
ATTORNEYS
Ettienne Barnard
Since completing the BA Law degree at Stellenbosch University and the LLB degree
in 1990, and his articles as candidate attorney, he has practiced in Somerset West. In
1993 he was admitted as an attorney and conveyancer and specializes in commercial law.
Sonja Labuschagne
In 1995 Sonja Labuschagne joined the firm as an attorney. She studied at UPE and
completed her BSc degree in Marine Biology in 1986. In 1990 she obtained her LLB degree at
Stellenbosch. From the end of 1990 to 1993 she was a candidate attorney at Attorneys
Steenkamp, Du Plessis, Mey and Partners in Johannesburg. She was admitted as an attorney
in 1993 and spent the remainder of 1993 and the beginning of 1994 in Europe. In the middle
of 1994 she started to work at Consilium Legis, legal advisors to the Department of
Transport, until she joined Ettienne Barnard Attorneys.
Andalé Benjamin: Associate Attorney, Notary and Conveyancer, estate
planner and administrator. BCom Law graduate of the Stellenbosch University.
Shinead Gabrielle
Zeeman: She obtained her LLB at the University of
South Africa and after some years in the private sector, she did her practical
training at the Legal Education And Development Cape Town School for Legal
Practice (a joint project of the University of Cape Town and the Law Society of
South Africa.) She has completed all required exams and courses and is
currently completing her year as candidate attorney.
Nadia van Noordwyk: She obtained her
B.Com LLB at the Stellenbosch University and is now a candidate attorney
attending to general legal matters.
Charmé Logie: She
started her career in law as a filing clerk and general assistant but soon
became involved as a legal secretary. Currently she is studying law
through the University of South Africa.
SUPPORT STAFF
The dedicated support staff consist of in-house and
associate paralegals, secretaries, assistants and messengers.
